A lot of my mates wanted to know what i did on my birthday…
I took a phrase from Children of Men movie and i said,
“Same as every other day, woke up, …felt like shit, went to work,.. felt like shit.”

This is probably why i had always prefered the Irish Football team than England’s.
Most of my favourite alltime E.P.L defenders surprisingly seem to come from Ireland (Gary Kelly, Gary Breen, Ian Harte, Matt holland).
And of cos, Sinead O connor.
First heard abt her in 1995 when i was 13, and i thot she was another alanis morissete gone botak.
Back then i thot her music sucks.
As i grew up, i kept hearing a lot of good positive things abt her. Mostly from the Alternative music circle. But i continued not checking out any of her albums.
Forward to 2005, i soon learned from the punk circle of friends who she really was.
And now, i have collected close to three of her albums.
And i seriuosly thought i was more punk than her.
Haunting voice. A message behind her lyrics. An advocate for peace.
Much so like a female version of MJ
OK, I want to talk about Ireland
Specifically I want to talk about the “famine”
About the fact that there never really was one
There was no “famine”
See Irish people were only ALLOWED to eat potatoes
All of the other food
Meat fish vegetables
Were shipped out of the country under armed guard
To England while the Irish people starved
And then on the middle of all this
They gave us money not to teach our children Irish
And so we lost our history
And this is what I think is still hurting me
See we’re like a child that’s been battered
Has to drive itself out of it’s head because it’s fightened
Still feels all the painful feelings
But they lose contact with the memory
And this leads to massive self-destruction
Alcoholism drug action
All desperate attempts at running
And in it’s worst form
Becomes actual killing
And if there ever is gonna be healing
There has to be remembering
And then grieving
So that there then can be forgiving
There has to be knowledge and understanding
An American army regulation
Says you mustn’t kill more than 10% of a nation
‘Cos to do so causes permanent “psychological damage”
It’s not permanent but they didn’t know that
Anyway during the supposed “famine”
We lost a lot more than 10% of a nation
Through deaths on land or on ships of emigration
But what finally broke us was not starvation
But it’s use in the controlling of our education
School go on about “Black 47″
On and on about “The terrible “famine”"
But what they don’t say is in truth
There really never was one
So let’s take a look shall we
The highest statistics of child abuse in the EEC
And we say we’re a Christian country
But we’ve lost contact with our history
See we used to worship God as a mother
We’re sufferin from post traumatic stress disorder
Look at all our old men in the pubs
Look at all our young people on drugs
We used to worship God as a mother
Now look at what we’re doing to each other
We’ve even made killers of ourselves
The most child-like trusting people in the Universe
And this is what’s wrong with us
Our history books the parent figure lied to us
I see the Irish
As a race like a child
That got itself basned in the face
And if there ever is gonna be healing
There has to be remembering
And then grieving
So that there then can be forgiving
There has to be knowledge and understanding
Its 9th september 2009 today. A special day with special numbers.
Every year there will be a day to talk about…
Superstition,Prophecies, numerology, or probably just another day where everybody wake up and go TO work.
Since 2006, date 6/06/06, i had hoped that that metors crashed on america like in those movies or aliens came to earth n tried to kidnap KUMAR.
But on a serious note, seriously, i think human race would treasure one another if disasters or at least sumthing weird or unexplained happen on ‘special days’…. Stop and just think about it.
me n my wicked fantasy.
_
And so i cant sleep, looked out of the window, with lisa loeb on the radio. (nice ryhme)
I’ll bet it’ll be just another day tomorrow morning.
But hey at least its a day with a special number.
Which will carry on and on and on till 12-12-12: 12th December 2012. ///
Treasure it while it last.

On a brighter note, Tim Burton’s 9 will be released worldwide tomorrow.

Im not good for you, and you’re too different from me.
5 july 2009
Fate brought us two together.
And fate has told me its time we let go.
Times Not Forgotten///
Well, well, the ppl up in heavens has started to reduce human lives before Armageddon day by creative ways such as viruses n plagues again… dis time the Swine flu aka H1N1 virus..
Man, i have always think that socio-political apocalyptic and dystopian movies like I am Legend, i-robot, Resident evil, The hills have eyes etc was made to tell a story of humans and their undeniable greed to self-destruction.
I mean, seriously those movies can come true in future if “itchy” scientists abuse the use of viruses, BIOLOGICAL WARFARE or medical technology or folks trusting too much on robot technology and so on…
But for now, the flu plague has come and though it has not affected asia yet, monsoon winds, -other than human carriers-, can make the airborne disease travel here faster before u can even say S-W-I-N-E.
The flu virus will get worse in months to come and it will definitely test humanity.
Man, as if Armageddon 2012 isn’t enough to get worried upon…/ But hey, if things do get worse, we can always blame Big Bird

Always always blame it on the bird...

punker girl n business guy
she’s frighteneddddd of cats,
while i adore them.
she loves taufik basitah to bits,
i find that bugger creepy n annoying …
she loves american idol and Sing Idol,

She hates reading,

she’s a plain jane,
I love dying my hair
She has close-ties with her family.
I come from a dysfunctional one…
She complains that i have too many friends,
I complain that she has little.
i love tim burton
she probably dont know who or what that is…

Opposites.

With the introduction of all new free-to-air OKTO channel this coming october, viewers will finally see another channel reign free. That’s right, local Tamil Channel, Vansantham is finally a full-fleged channel. This probably isnt big news if you’re a typical Chinese or Malay but for years, i used to find it outrageous that Vansantham, Kids Central and Arts Central. plus ads and commercials in both English and Tamil were all rolled into one channel.
Insane. i cant see why MEDIACORP cant extend it to probably 2 channels from
CENTRAL when there’s actually two free-to-air mandarin speaking channels on TV.I dont friggen care abt the demographics or whose population is the largest here, but having a Tamil channel on its own should be fair in this “democratic” country so to speak. Alarmingly, it took years for MEDIACORP to finally realize that…///
I used to love Channel i. And i still prefered Chanel i over Chn 5. Channel i, though demised, was like an opposition party who wanted something different on TV. And it shows. I remembered taping better alternative programmes, cult and b-movies, and the station featured actors who were from artisitc stage/thearthe backgrounds, i.e. namely, Cynthia Lee Macquarie, Karen Tan, Adrian Pang and on and on.So when they scrapped Channel i, and left Channel U on, thousands of ppl like me were left for dead.
Well, i just hope OKTO becomes more open-minded and decide to showcase more artistic films than the blockbuster crap on channel 5 and hopefully feature cult/indie films and “liberal” programmes like Goodness Gracious Me, Everybody hates Chris, American Dad and to documentaries by Miachel Moore. But then again, anything is better than stoopid animes and manga….

So, have you got one yet…?
Yeah, the thing called the ipod…./
i always wanted to write a piece abt the ipod.
Ipod is sooo everywhere nowadays. It comes out of ppl’s mouths when they wana talk over lunch, and its the first thing we wana splurge on at the next bastardized IT Fair….
Dont get me wrong – im not dissing ipod nor all mp3 players, (i have a mp3 player myself), but it’s becoming alarmingly stupid in recent times… that even a kid stting opposite of me in the MRT today asked for an ipod from his mom if he passed his Primary 6 leaving exams (P.S.L.E).
If you die-die must have mp3 player, get a less famous one instead, like LeMon. Or at least a Creative. (support local-made!).
And for one, try to beat the trend… just becos all your peers has an ipod doesnt mean you gotta have one too. Its like supporting Man U, – just because they’re the biggest and known football team in the world. We should all be an individual by being different, so do try something than that sleek ipod when ur shopping for a player next time.
I have frens who r rite down gila abt the ipok and also to those who are resisting the ‘ipod temptation’. These ppl, who instead of succumbing to the trends of society are still supporting media like CDs, cassetes and vinyls. Not surprisingly that these category of ppl comes from the underground scene, punk circles and the artistic armada…
i know it’s a bit irrelevant in this modern age to still be supporting media like Tapes and CDs, but we should all try to slow down technology by a bit, before technology take control of our lives and make you run for them instead… (what a rhyme) and like what my fren used to say…. MP3′s and online music can never have the personal touch that the CD or a tape equipped with sleeves brings… modern advancement is emminent i know and i’m sure the ipod will continue to be a mainstay not only as a convenient gadget but the most popular too among other MP3 players as well…
Resist the Ipod Temptation.
Refuse the trends of society…
But of course, everyone has thier opinions….
(opinions are like assholes, everyone has em‘)
(This goes out to those that i know e.g like terence, aziamey and shaiful xerox who still log around a CD walkman or casssete tape player in thier bags, minghui and satish for being CD mix-tapes makers…. and to the hardcore-punk kids (you know who you are) who still support tapes and vinyls….)
Eversince all the ppl ard me, and i mean all around, up, below and everywhere have been talking so much about the hot-new thing called facebook, like excessive hyper peanut butter stuck in between your teeth, i’ve been deciding in my sleep and during making coffee time wheather to commit myself to another social marketing, eh- networking site.
Farcebok is now the new friendster + myspace + multiply + bebo + blogger + bodoh. But with so-and-so, i all-soh have been hearing that facebook is one of those open-source and community sites, so i was willing to give it a go. Cos sfter all, Open-source = Cyber punk. Powder to the people, tui boh?
Plus i all-soh want to see all the hoo-has and all the noisy throw beer-bottle commotion behind Farcebook anyway…. So i re-signed with facebook abt a months ago, after initially deleting my acct.
So far i arleady have a whole bunchload of sites that includes friendster, myspace, matiplai, devianart, flickr, flixster, youtube blah blah until really now i buay-tahan already… So many how to keep up like that?
Sign Up!, Log In, Blog this, Post that, JOINNNN !!!
DAMN how i missed the simple good old days of snake mail.
Netwalking sites are like trends. 2 years ago, eveleybody in this country one by one start to desert friendter to go to myspace, until now friendter is only hip for our less technology-inclined indonesians and filipino frens. And len ah, the kahlent trend is now to jump from myspace’s ship to farcebook ship…
Nahbiu…all these ppl, they keep on creating social-networking sites for people like us who tend to mostly do nothing at home and watch christopher liu’s lauyah acting on National TV… and they tempt us to join.. and… if we dont join we not hip. or worse get hit by a car.
And ist time i come to facebook, naybeh, i pening like there was no tommorow… no wonder they say it’s for “college” kids….
But in saying so, i find farcebook very interlactive. Unlike friendster and so on. But in also saying so, it’s also slowly a mess and chaotic with too many applications, functions and all the nice things that the diehard facebok “developers” like you, me, ah-pa and ah-ma can create for the facebuk community…
The other day, Azhar sent me “Kueh Raya” (Hari Raya Kueh n Goodies) thru an application in Facebok.
So in return, i send him “Rempeyek” with nuts.
If u dont have farcebok, or even the internet you might think that is ridiculous.
Well, it actually is.
Hopefully one day one facebook kid would also come up an idea to make function that can send Our unused items for recycling like mom’s old kain-buruk, rubbish sampah, old Pam posters and Scrap metal to the nearest disposal centre within a single click.
“If they make shopping malls, ppl will def come!!!!”
-William Farquhar-
The year was 1997.
And I was a 15 year old runaway teenage rebel.///
It was the year of the Tamagotchi, and when Lime magazine was every living source of pop culture for girls who didnt had internet back then and also for boys like me who would call off soccer with frens on saturday afternoons just to stay glued to the tv for VIDZ’s ANNABELLE FRANCIS..
Those were the days i tell you…
On weekdays, If i wasnt hanging ard old Ang Mo Kio Interchange and AMK central after school with fellow schoolmates, i wld be back home n off to the arcades like Paco Funworld, Funland or Timezone accompanying frens, or waste money on MADAM ROJaIE CRYSTAL BALL fortune teller machine, or wasting my time exploring kool places in orchard road with frens …
Back in 1995-97, Far East Plaza and Good ol’ Pacific Plaza was a haven for kids like me… Those places carried our Grunge and surf shops,- which was rad back then… I remembered those bus trips to Far east, singing Nirvana songs or talking about the hot new sensation that time – Natalie Imbruglia.. Now Far east has become a place of crap. Capitalised by (new-age) funkies who think they’re (grunge) junkies.
Cyber-japan fashion and hip hop bling bling has taken control of far east plaza now, instead of the good old days of alternative rock, surf, grunge and punk that circulated ard far east plaza back in the 90′s… And who can forget, way before borders, there was Tower books, ever since the big Tower Records and Tower Books at Pacific Plaza closed shop ard 2000, things went dead for one of the music fans’ fav haunts after that…
And even the old National Library at stamford rd was a stomping ground… If i knew these places werent going to last, i would have taken tons of photos for memory’s keepsake…
I remember finding a side of me i never knew had existed back in 97. Playing truant, Coming to school after flag-raising ceremony (dont you all remember that shit?) and sneaking from counsellors and prefects, getting detention mostly every day, or crawling thru that self-made lobang i and sum outcasts carved out in the fencing just behind school….
I totally did things differently and had a perception of things that didnt really stick with a lotta ppl, for e.g. , i sang Manic Street Preachers ‘Design For Life’ in my heart during Majulah Singapura……
Leading quite a carefree sec.3 life, I already knew my life was goin nowhere.
In academics, i was failing math and physics wasnt really like the show, – Weird Science.
How i missed Litreature, which i admitly exceled in secondary 1 and 2.
In sports, i had to excel. Everybody from my dad to the neighbourhood kids i played soccer with expected me to be in the school soccer team…
Well, i did, only to threw it all away a few years later when i found my calling in music and the electric guitar…. 5 years in the school team and ‘House’ team, but who the heck cares…
My cousin told me i could be playing in the S.LEAGUE now if i didnt stop back then.. But i wasnt so sure what he really meant….
